Transmitted by mosquitoes, malaria is the largest killer of small children, and causes great suffering for everyone. Treated nets, hung over the bedding, are effective deterrents, and medication is available to help those already infected.

2. School uniform set, including dress uniform plus sports kit of shorts & tee shirt
Sports clothes in red, yellow or blue are part of the Uniform Set that also includes a lavender dress outfit.
All licensed schools in Uganda encourage students to wear uniforms. Students wear them proudly and uniforms make kids feel part of the school. Many poor families can’t afford uniforms for their children.
In many of the poor homes, most of the youngsters sleep in one bed. It may simply be a pile of straw or rags on the floor. A mattress and bedding set is a huge boost for the entire family
4. Shopping for children. You may contribute to the general fund or specify a child to receive the items purchased with your donation.
Peter (lf) is a disabled child sponsored by TOLM. Thanks to donations he has new adjustable crutches and gets around well.
Each student has individual needs for such basics as underwear, sandals, cup and plate for eating, toiletries. School leaders will arrange a trip to nearby Masaka town to buy essential for the children.
5. Sponsor A Child. You will be assigned a specific child and receive a picture and brief “bio” prepared by a teacher
Many children like this one are orphans or live with one poor single parent. She can only attend school because a sponsor pays her yearly school fee of $150.
Regular Sponsorship:
For an entire year (three terms of school), your contribution pays for school fees, a uniform, a daily meal, and periodic health care plus the loving care of teachers and assistants. These students live in the community with parents or relatives.
SAC Family Sponsorship:
For the neediest of children who live with a staff member of Tree of Life Ministries. Your contribution of $360 per year ($30 per month) includes all of the schooling and care listed above, plus the child lives with a small group of other kids in the home of a staff member of Tree of Life Ministries under the supervision of a special nanny or house mother.
6. Sponsor a Teacher. You will be assigned a specific teacher and receive a picture and information about her/him
Head of the Pre-school Grace Mirembe has a sponsor in the USA. Many other teachers are hoping for sponsors of their own.
A little money goes a long way in Uganda. Your donation provides the salary and benefits package for one teacher or administrator. Teachers receive a housing allowance, meals at school, uniforms, transportation allowance if needed. We make a monthly contributions to a savings plan for health emergencies, continuing education and/or retirement. Salaries are competitive with teachers in government schools

This custom beehive on a Ugandan farm shows what can be done with available materials.
Our new organic farm is in need of startup funds to produce nutritious food for the children, cash crops that will support the project. We need to purchase tools, parts for the irrigation system, livestock (chickens, goats), seeds and farm supplies
8. Lukaya Artisans Guild. This is a talented group of mothers and teachers who produce & sell crafts to support themselves and the school
The Artisan’s Guild has rented a very modest storefront on the highway to sell their crafts. Ugandans in this region of the country are skillful basket makers and weavers. Start up money is needed to outfit their shop, provide training, and help establish retail and wholesale markets for their crafts.
9. Campus Development. We are doing this in an ecologically responsible manner with renewable energy, a water management system, and sustainable farming.
We are blessed to be working with an exceptional environmental architect who is developing a master plan for a campus that will include the pre- & primary schools, a cultural center for tourism, the organic farm and faculty housing. We need donations for developing the master plan, and for the buildings that will be erected.

Basics that we assume will be in every classroom in the USA are in short supply in rural Africa. Paper, pencils, erasers, pens, crayons, & workbooks for students. Chalk, blackboard erasers, folders, calculators, pens, grade books for teachers
Furniture like this for classrooms is manufactured locally and provides jobs in the community.
We are gradually accumulating a library of resources as our school grows by one primary level each year. New books and teacher resources are needed as we expand. Computers are in short supply, and we are gradually outfitting our project leaders and educators with good quality used machines with Windows software.

These are gifts to meet the most important needs when they are given. It is very helpful for RPU funding of the overall project to have the flexibility that Unrestricted Gifts provide.
