Real Partners Uganda, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charity that was formed in response to experiences that our board members had while visiting Uganda. We were so impressed by the beauty and diversity of the country, thrilled by its wildlife, and enchanted by the people. The poverty we encountered, especially among children, was beyond anything we'd ever experienced, but the spirit, hospitality, industry and kindness of the people were remarkable. We were inspired to work with them to address the issues that keep them in poverty, and to provide the children with opportunities for a bright future. Learn more...

Partners' Progress Uganda Newsletter is Out for September
They are in the mail. The September 2009 edition should arrive at the homes of our partners within the next few days. An online color version will be posted soon. The issue features the work and images of our summer volunteers who completed 7 weeks of work in Lukaya. The four students from Xavier University of Ohio had an amazing experience and were embraced by the community, especially the children of Mustard Seed Academy. Their accomplishments are impressive and some are already talking about going back. Mustard Seed Academy has a new soccer team and music program, its resource library is much improved, buildings have been painted and teachers are using new methods in the classroom. And there is a great jump in the number of friendships between Americans and Ugandan. We thank organizer Andrew Patton and colleagues Katie Gray, Tiffany Hawley and Ashley Patrick for their great contribution. Mustard Seed will never be the same! You can read samples of the blogs and Andrew's brief memoir on the Volunteers News page by clicking here........

The Tree of Life Ministries Leaders gather after sharing a meal together during a meeting in October 2008.

To reflect God's love in the world, we work in partnership with community leaders in Uganda to support education, conservation, and community health, as well as economic projects that benefit the community in a sustainable way. "Go into all the world and proclaim the good news to the whole creation." Mark 16:15 The Vision...

What started as a longing to care for children trapped by poverty has grown and changed over the past five years. We now have two non-profit organizations, an NGO (non-govern-mental organization) in Uganda called Tree of Life Ministries (TOLM) and one in the United States called Real Partners Uganda (RPU). RPU is a registered non-profit (501(c)(3)) that supports TOLM in many ways. For example, our Sponsor-A-Child program provides for the education and care of over 150 children, many of them orphans or children of poor single parents. The goal of Tree of Life Ministries is to develop a child care program that supports itself through income generating projects like our organic farm and Artisans Guild. Also by building a model school program, we attract children of fee-paying parents who want an superior education for their kids. To Learn More.....

Children enjoy a meal at our Saturday Program, the only one in the community that provides education, care and fun on the weekend. Otherwise, many of the children would be wandering the streets unsupervised and unfed.

There are many ways of becoming a partner in Real Partners Uganda: sponsor a child or a teacher, support our farm operation, donate to our school programs, buy the Artisan's Guild supplies and tools, or shop for the children. You may also help our capital projects as we erect school buildings, housing for the staff, farm structures and the cultural center for tourism. For a complete list click here...
This child holds her name tag. She is on the waiting list for children who are seeking sponsors. We are able to care for children like Catherine because of the financial support from many individuals, churches, schools, and civic organizations to the Sponsor-A-Child Program of Real Partners Uganda. Only $140 per year provides schooling, meals, uniforms and periodic health care. Over 90% of every dollar contributed goes directly to the work in Uganda.
